Antique French Louis XVI Gilt Bronze & Marble Four-Light Candelabra, Pair
Exceptional matched pair of antique French-style Louis XVI Neoclassical four-light candelabra, beautifully executed in gilt bronze and white marble.
Each candelabrum features a finely carved white marble urn-form body surrounded by elaborate gilt bronze floral garlands and foliate mounts. Four scrolling arms extend gracefully from the central stem, ornamented with acanthus leaves, floral sprays, and classical detailing. The candle cups are finished with distinctive beaded rims and acanthus-leaf decoration, topped by ornate floral finials.
The candelabra are mounted on substantial square white marble bases with richly decorated gilt bronze borders, classical foliate appliqués, and ornamental feet.
These pieces were formerly wired as lamps and retain openings from their previous electrical conversion. They could be rewired and restored for use as lamps, or enjoyed as decorative candelabra as-is. They measure 16” tall and 6 1/2” wide.
Condition: Antique condition with patina to the gilt finish and openings from their former lamp conversion; one foot is different than the others. Please see photos for details.
