Antique French Rococo Style Brass Jardinière with Flower Frog Insert

A beautiful antique brass jardinière in the French Rococo taste, richly cast with scrolling acanthus-leaf handles, shell and floral relief along the body, and dainty scroll feet. The shaped, serpentine body has a warm aged brass patina throughout.

A real highlight of this piece is the pierced flower frog insert set into the top of the insert, still intact, designed to hold and arrange fresh-cut stems, and it's a detail many similar pieces have lost over time. It makes this jardinière fully functional as a table centerpiece for floral arrangements, or lovely simply displayed empty on a sideboard, mantel, or dining table.

Measures 12”x5”x6”.  There is patina present, and verdigris on the feet.
