Antique Brass Repoussé Jardiniere

An oval brass jardinière with richly embossed repoussé decoration, likely French or Continental, dating to the late 19th century. The body features a continuous frieze of Renaissance Revival ornament: a central oval cartouche depicting two winged putti at play flanked by scrolling acanthus and shell motifs, with mythical winged griffins and strapwork medallions extending along either side. A beaded guilloche band runs beneath the main register, and the piece rests on four cast scroll-and-shell feet.

The jardiniere measures 11” x 7” x 6”. There are some stable hairline cracks along the bottom edge. It retains its original zinc liner.
