19th century Portrait of a Lady, Oil on Tin
19th century Portrait of a Lady,
Oil on tin, artist unknown. A quietly powerful 19th-century portrait of a seated woman in a rich brown gown and delicate lace bonnet, typical of the early 1800s. The back has a sticker faintly reading Mrs. Marinella Willbe, perhaps the portrait subject?
Beautifully housed in an impressive gilt wood and gesso frame, it’s a soulful addition to any storied interior. ✨🕯️
The portrait is in excellent condition for its age with only some minor paint loss along the frame edge, and the frame has minor chips. Measures 21 1/2” x 19 1/2”. The frame is 2 3/4 inches thick.
